Shun Higo Nokami Personal Folding Steak Knife with Sheath
Shun Higo Nokami Personal Folding Steak Knife with Sheath
The Shun Higo Nokami personal folding steak knife is the perfect gift for any steak connoisseur. Take this handy pocket-knife anywhere and you'll always be prepared to make the cut. Considered to be the first Japanese pocket knife, the timeless Higo design dates back to before the 1850s, and since has been updated for a safer and easier to use design while still keeping its original ideals. Made from a high-carbon, VG-10 stainless steel construction, this high-quality blade will slice through most meats and fruits with ease, making a clean cut every time. The razor-sharp blade measures 3.5", and when fully opened, the knife measures 7.5" overall. Like the traditional Higo design, this knife includes a lever for easy one-handed opening. This knife also includes a safety locking system to ensure that the knife doesn't accidentally close while cutting or handling, an improvement on the original design. The ebony PakkaWood handle is made from a resin-infused natural hardwood, making it waterproof, durable, comfortable, and bacteria-resisting. Inlaid in the middle of this beautifully designed handle is a small silver and brass mosaic emblem from an ancient samurai family crest. Along with the knife, this set also includes a leather carrying case and a use and care instruction booklet. If you're looking for the perfect gift for any steak-lover in your life (including yourself), look no further than the Shun Higo Nokami personal folding steak knife. Handcrafted in Seki, Japan. Lifetime warranty. Shun item number DM5900.
About Shun
Shun in Japanese actually translates to "at the peak of perfection," and no words could better describe this outstanding company. Renowned for their traditional knife making style and aesthetic design, the highly skilled artisans at the Kai Corporation (the parent company of Shoon) have been making blades of the highest quality in homage of the legendary sword smiths of Seki, Japan for over 100 years. Each and every knife is handmade, from beginning to end, requiring at least 100 meticulous steps along the way. It is out of this respect and admiration towards their ancestors, coupled with advanced technology and materials, that Shun produces basically pieces of art that also happen to be razor-sharp knives.
