American Coffee connoisseurs are anxiously awaiting the release of JURA’s newest addition to their popular homeline of automatic speciality coffee machines - the GIGA 10. Find out what to expect from JURA’s newest addition and when it’s anticipated to be available for purchase in the US. 

What’s New?

Hot & Cold Brew Option

The biggest addition to the new GIGA 10 is the capability to make BOTH hot and cold brew beverages, this option was not available on the GIGA 6. The new GIGA 10 offers the widest selection of beverages in the JURA line, with 35 beverage options versus the GIGA 6’s selection of 28.  JURA also added their cold extraction process to the new GIGA 10, doubling the amount of beverages you can make and giving you the option of making any beverage as a cold brew. A cold water bypass was also added to the GIGA 10,  allowing you to concoct long barista specialities at home. 

Display & User Interface

Another improvement is the panoramic touch-operated coffee display panel, which offers a clearer visual and allows you to tap and slide to customize your beverage selection. The new user interface provides almost unlimited beverage customization options. The size, intensity and ratio of coffee, milk and milk foam can be easily adjusted with the new display.  

Redesign

JURA updated the design for the GIGA 10, providing a more elegant and impressive looking machine that is sure to stand out in your kitchen. With the sleek, new panoramic coffee display, two bean containers with a new turbine design and a redesigned cup grille, the GIGA 10 is sure to make a statement.  

Updated Milk System

The GIGA 10 will offer the HP3/CX3 milk system and interchangeable milk spout. In addition to this, there was also a one-touch, automatic milk system cleaning capability that was added to make your life easier. However, there are only 3 levels of programmable milk/milk frothing temperature options compared to the GIGA 6, which offers 10. 

What is the same?

The GIGA 10 will still have WiFi capability and compatibility with J.O.E. It also kept the Pulse Extraction process (P.E.P) along with the 5-16 gram variable brewing unit. It is still equipped with two electronically adjustable ceramic disc grinders, although those underwent an aesthetic redesign. Both the GIGA 10 and GIGA 6 offer 10 levels of programmable coffee strength along with 3 levels of programmable brewing temperature and hot water temperature. Both have two fluid systems and two thermoblock heating systems. It will offer two high performance pumps, same as the GIGA 6. The GIGA 10 will still offer the Intelligent Water System and will use the CLEARYL smart filter. There is still an energy saving mode and a programmable on/off switch. 

To Sum it Up…

The new JURA GIGA 10 offers more beverage making capabilities with the addition of hot and cold brew options. It will offer a sleek new design, display and user interface. An updated milk system with a milk system cleaning option that was not available on the GIGA 6. The addition of the cold extraction process and cold water bypass system, which allows you to make cold beverages at the touch of a button make upgrading from the GIGA 6 to the GIGA 10 well worth it.

Anticipated US Release Date?

The European release of the new GIGA 10 machine has many American JURA lovers wondering when it will be available for purchase here. One can assume the American release will be sometime shortly after JURA unveils the new GIGA 10 at the Inspired Home Show in Chicago, Ill, with show dates running from March 4-7, 2023.  The GIGA 10’s predecessor, the GIGA 6, had an American release date of April 19, 2019. So, we can expect the GIGA 10 to follow a similar release date of around mid to late April, 2023 (fingers crossed). J.L.
